The dictionary defines self-care as the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.
I define self-care as consciously being in the driver seat of your life and making the decisions that works in your best interest in the long run as it relates to your physical, sociological, financial, emotional, and spiritual being. I believe that the reason we often neglect ourselves is because we are not often in the driver seat of our decisions. When you start to drive your vehicle called your body with the steering wheel of you mind, then, you can take it where you want to be.
